The shaftless elevator is designed to take up the least amount of space in your home. The elevator does not require a hoistway, pit or a separate machine room saving you time, space and money on construction cost.
The unique design also allows for installation anywhere in a home since it does not require a wall for attachment and works with standard 8′ ceilings. The home elevator can fit nicely tucked in a corner ready for access between flooors. To learn more about shaftless elevators contact Innovative Lifts at 866-325-5438.
Shaftless elevator video
The elevator in this video traveled from a lower level into a second floor bedroom. The lift fit perfectly with minimum construction. This elevator is shown traveling up with a full height door. As the elevator travels up it will lift a section of the floor designed to travel with the lift between the two guide rails. This floor cover is equipped with safety sensors to detect weight or an obstruction. If the sensor is activated the elevator will stop allowing for travel in the opposite direction back to the first landing.
Stiltz shaftless elevator traveling down with hatch cover to close off the floor. As the elevator travels down the floor cover will stop at the top landing to close off the opening. The floor cover lands flush in a liner to keep it in place preventing any side to side movement. In most installations the flooring material removed to cut the opening in the floor can be reused to finish the cover as seen here. The underside of the elevator is equipped with a similar device to stop travel in the down direction should a sensor detect an obstruction.
